Babar Ahmad’s family say they feel ‘insulted and cheated’ by the way the government have treated the case of their loved one.

After languishing in a UK high security prison for the past seven years without trial, the CPS on Thursday revealed they had sent the majority of the evidence on file to the US authorities.

This meant their earlier claim of having insufficient evidence to try Ahmad in a UK court was exposed as a lie.

This also exposed the one-sided nature of Britain’s extradition arrangement with the US where Washington demands whoever it wants for prosecution and the UK simply accommodates them – trampling on the rights of its own citizens in the process.

With MPs calling for a public inquiry into Ahmad’s case and the unfair extradition relationship with the US, what’s the next step for Babar Ahmad’s supporters who are simply calling for this man to be tried in the UK courts?
